Ann Hunt, SC, Program Coordinator, AmeriCorps Member

  • I am responsible for writing the Newsletter. I coordinate Math Discovery, an individualized after-school math tutoring program for students in grades 2 through 6. I administer an assessment, PowerPath, to those adults who are questioning whether they might have a learning difficulty. I help facilitate a women’s enrichment venture called Me Time, for any woman who needs a little personal time, and I work with our Piecemaker group, quilters and crafters who enjoy coming together to create and socialize. Similar to each staff person, I try to connect women with resources that meet their needs.  Ext. 19 or annhunt@thewomensconnection.org

April Kandil, Youth Program Coordinator

  • As the Youth Coordinator, I coordinate and facilitate Girl's Club, ages 8-12, and Girl's Life, ages 12-15, as well as, Girls Night In for young women ages 15-18.  The purpose of these programs is to assist the girls in learning valuable life skills and developing into strong, independent women.  The girls participate in a variety of activities including discussions, field trips, guest speakers, arts & crafts, and community service projects.  I also work to assist women in finding the resources and support they need in order to lead an enriched life.

Linda Keller, Employment/Education Coordinator

  • Assisting women in building bridges to employment is my main responsibility at the Women’s Connection.  I support job seekers by assessing their skills, experience, and education, and helping them create a plan for obtaining the jobs or educational training they need.  I coach job seekers in all areas of job searching, including building resumes, completing job applications, successful interviewing, etc.  I also work to build collaborative relationships with employers in the community.  I enjoy the opportunity to connect women and families with the resources and wealth in their community and to watch as they come into bloom.  ¡Hablo Español!
